The Number 4

There are several meaningful numbers found in the Bible. One of those is the number 4. Specifically, there are 4 versions of the Jesus story in our New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). They were written by 4 different people all telling the same basic story when any 1 would have been more sufficient. No other story in the Bible is told 4 times, by 4 different authors. Therefore, it must be important and have significance!

There are 4 seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter). There are 4 directions (East, West, North, South). It is easy to remember 4 things and there are 4 Biblical tenets that remove obstacles to having a relationship with our heavenly Father:

• We are anointed to prosper (John 10:10, Jeremiah 29:11)

• At an appointed time and place (Galatians 6:9)

• When we use our talents and gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

• For the glory of Him (John 15:7-8)

The 4 tenets unlock the inheritance promise of abundance here on Earth. The 4 tenets allow us to experience life as a prince or princess. After all, the triune God (our Father, Christ our Savior, and Holy Spirit) is the King of all Kings. If our Father is a king, we (his sons/daughters) are princes and princesses and entitled to all of the rights and privileges (inheritance blessings of abundance). In other words, we are written into the inheritance of the One who owns and created everything in the world!

The three conditions of experiencing the abundant life of a prince or princess have an appointed time and place; when we use our talents and gifts; for the glory of Him. These conditions explain everything we experience in life here on Earth and we use it as part of our effective counseling model. We have created several case examples of this counseling application model and are glad to share them as requested by email.

We talk more about the number 4 in Chapter 1 and 2 of our book “4 Abundant Life”. Suffice to say here, that the number 4 also has personal meaning in our lives as our marriage of abundance started on April 4th (4-4-2004) an appointed time and place; where we were using our talents and gifts of teaching/speaking at a conference; that glorified (and continue to glorify) Him.
